TAF type hydraulic power chucks
The TAF power chuck is manufactured on the basis of Szimikron Ltd.’s own patent as a result of continuous development. It”s suitable for all NC lathes from custom manufacturing to flexible manufacturing systems.
In addition to the radial movement of the jaws, TAF chucks can perform the following functions using only the guide rail movements of the machine:
- programmable jaw indexing
- quick change of jaws
- precision of main spindle rotation
- positioning of main spindle
Our chucks are balanced by a PC-controlled dynamic balancing equipment.
Quality grade of balancing: according to the standard No. G 6,3 ISO 1940/1
Main features of the TAF hydraulic power chucks
NOVELTY
Until now, there was no hydraulic power chuck on the market that could perform the automatic jaw indexing without major modifications of the machine.
AUTOMATIC
Changing of diameters does not require manual intervention.
FAST
Jaw indexing happens at the same time, so the operation takes at least three times less time than any previous procedure.
UNIVERSAL
Automatic indexing is provided over the entire diameter range of the power chuck.
INTERCHANGEABLE
Can be easily installed in place of other conventional hydraulic chucks. The necessary additional elements are supplied with the power chuck.
PRODUCTIVE
Dynamically balanced power chucks allow high production speed.

As the chuck automatically adjusts to different diameters, quick jaw change becomes unnecessary in most cases.
A change is only necessary to switch from hard jaws to soft jaws, or from straight to inverted jaws.
This can also be done by always inserting the changed jaws in the same position and then automatically adjusting the chuck to the required diameter. The controller memory stores the current position of the jaws.
